India Day 9

Jaipur to Leicester

My return home from India.

India Day 8

Palaces of Jaipur

Today was all about seeing many sights in Jaipur over the space of the morning. It was of course, a very a hot day.

India Day 7

The Pink City

Most of the day would be taken by travelling from Ranthambhore to Jaipur, but I did venture out into the furnace to explore a little.

India Day 6

Tigers of Ranthambhore

To me, today was the most important day of the trip. It was my one chance to see tigers on this trip, and the main reason for my choice of India for this holiday. It would be a very hot and tiring day, but with a bit of luck, it'd be a successful day.

India Day 5

Taj Mahal

Today was the first of the two sights I'd travelled to India to see: the Taj Mahal. My experience of India so far had been busy, and crowded, but I still held out some hope that I'd be able to get people-free photographs of this historic monument.

India Day 4

The Red Fort of Agra

A new day, a new city - this would be the place I'd spend the least time, so I needed to make the best use of it.

India Day 3

Old and New Delhi

My first full day in India, and my last day in Delhi. It was clear this would be a fast moving trip, but just how much photography would I manage? I hoped I'd find ways of taking photographs without people in them, and find interesting shots all over.

India Day 2

Akshardham Temple

My arrival in India was off the back of very little sleep overnight, into a day of light tourism. There'd be no resting yet!

India Day 1

London to New Delhi

The start of a new adventure, this time to India!

India

Trip Planning

Sixteen years after my first visit, I was going back to India as a tourist mainly in the hope of seeing tigers.

India Day 6

One More Flight

A couple of hours after arriving in Dubai, we were all feeling tired, but could now board our flight to London Gatwick. This arrived around 07:20, and from there we headed back to Leicester - finally able to relax after a busy week.

India Day 5

Heading Home

Our final day was a little shorter than those before, as we really only had the morning to wrap things up. It was late afternoon when we headed to the airport for the long journey back to the UK. The first leg of this was an Emirates flight to Dubai, that would land just after midnight. One colleague however was not feeling well, suffering with a case of what people call ‘Delhi belly’.

India Day 4

Mistaken Identity

It was another day of work, but this time we asked if we could have our lunch with the rest of their employees, which meant we got to try their buffet. In the evening we were taken to another restaurant, and after this one we posed for yet another group photo. One of many over the week. One of them asked if they could have a photo taken with me, as despite wearing a Superman t-shirt, they thought …

India Day 3

Aspiring

Today I had to dress for work - shorts and a t-shirt were out of the question if I wanted to make a professional impression on our hosts. It felt warm again today, but the clouds from yesterday lingered on. Breakfast was mostly dishes that looked like curry, but it felt too heavy for this early hour. I picked at what I could and then readied myself for the day ahead. On our first full day in Chenn …

India Day 2

Mahabalipuram

Not long after arriving in India was our only opportunity for some tourism. Sure it'd have been nice to catch up on sleep; but it would have been silly to have missed this chance.

India Day 1

The Journey Begins…

In the same year as having gone Australia and New Zealand, I was now travelling with work for the first time. Of all the places it could have been, it was India: somewhere I could probably have done with more time in.
