India

The Golden Triangle

Sixteen years since I travelled to India for work, I was finally returning there as a tourist. It was to be a trip of both history and nature, where I'd see the magnificent buildings of India's past, and the majestic tigers of India's wild side. Whilst I knew what to expect from my previous visit to India, and relative comparison to developing countries I'd visited, would that be enough to prepare me?

My plan would be to see as much as I could in what was projected to be high temperatures, and likely very little sleep. It'd also be a great chance to try out as many different Indian dishes as I could, as long as I didn't get the so-called 'Delhi belly'.

The Taj Mahal at dawn with a pool of water and blue water fountains in front. There are conical trees either side of the water.
