Jordan Day 13

Flying Home

The end was here, and early start, but I was on my way home.

Jordan Day 12

Ancient History

My final day in Jordan was to be spent exploring the North, to see ancient cities and fortifications.

Jordan Day 11

Back in Amman

The only thing of note today was seeing the Hedaji railway again, and getting back to Amman.

Jordan Day 10

The Inaugural Jordan Impact Marathon

It was finally here, after these years of waiting, it was the Jordan Impact Marathon.

Jordan Day 9

Wadi Rum

I'm not one to sit around doing nothing all day, so when I had a free day in the Wadi Rum, I booked a tour for the majority of the day. It just happened to include some sand boarding…

Jordan Day 8

Return to Petra

It's not often I visit a world heritage site more than once, especially within a few days of each other. Today was one of those times.

Jordan Day 7

Greening the Desert Day 2

Today was the second of the days volunteering, and would be working at the Al Baqa'a refugee camp.

Jordan Day 6

Greening the Desert Day 1

Today was the first of two days volunteering, starting with a project in the community

Jordan Day 5

Changing Tours

Back in Amman, I'd no longer be alone, but with a group of other individuals for the next few days who would all be running the marathon too.

Jordan Day 4

Petra and The Dead Sea

Today was the day. I'd be getting to the ruins of Petra

Jordan Day 3

Holy Mosaics, Moses!

The first day of the proper tour was in the pouring rain, but still took in Mount Nebo, Madaba, and Ash Shawbak Castle before arriving in Wadi Musa.

Jordan Day 2

Cave of the Seven Sleepers

Barely in the country for a few hours, and without much sleep, I'd got a half day tour to see some castles out in the desert.

Jordan Day 1

Leicester to Amman

The start of another adventure - I was finally going to Jordan. Finally going to see Petra, and finally getting to run a desert marathon. First, I needed to get there.

Trip Planning

A much delayed trip was finally about to arrive. It's one that would have me touring the country first, volunteering with Greening the Camps to help refugees with sustainable urban agriculture, and then a marathon across the Wadi Rum desert. Travelling along for most of it, it's one I'd need to plan well for.
